If you close your eyes when you listen to N&D, you'll hear a 12 piece band.
How is this possible?
Nicole is an expert music arranger and excels in the art of digital multi-tracking. She also has a few tricks up her sleeve. She was born with a rare music ability called absolute/perfect pitch. This means she can identify or recreate any given note without the benefit of a reference tone; basically when she hears a note, she knows exactly what pitch it is without having to double check on the piano. In addition to reading notation, she also has an incredible ear and can play back multiple melodies, countermelodies, and full accompaniments on the piano after hearing a piece of music just one time. N&D'S BACKGROUND MUSIC IS NEVER DOWNLOADED. Nicole listens to the original recording of the song and memorizes each individual instrument line right down to the high hat of a drum set, the horn section of a disco song, the bass line of a classic rock song, or that sweeping string line in a ballad. She then lays down 16 tracks into her digital keyboard, mixes it all down and adds effects. Each track is recorded by hand in real time with no external computer hookup. When the virtual band Nicole creates combines together with the live vocals and instruments....Well, you know! It's a sound like none other. Did you know that each 3 minute song takes Nicole between 3-6 HOURS to create? Can we say, labor of love? These custom backing tracks are arranged specifically for N&D's vocal range and style. The backgrounds are so spot on that the audience is often fooled, thinking they are listening to the radio until they see N&D performing. We hope you can appreciate what goes into a performance. It's the result of over 1000 hours of intense digital multi-tracking. 90% of the work is done behind the scenes and when N&D perform live it's all pumped through top of the line BOSE mixers and speakers. You have to hear it to believe it.
Forget everything you know about acoustic duos and DJs. N&D are neither of those. They are in their own league...
